she has a kindle so books are covered she has a full shed of tools she already has a tone of incense and a nice comfortable leather chair and she has all the jewelry and body could want her was just done and if she plays badminton with me it's only for 10 min's so she is not that athletic and finally she is doing wait-watchers because she is sort of over wate. I am looking for a birthday gift for my 52 year old mother. A couple years ago I thought it would be great to buy her a guitar as she was an avid player in college, but had given it up when our family began to grow. She was glad to have it and seemed excited, but has never touched it - it is still in the box. I have also gotten her jewelry, spa days, made a scrapbook with family pictures, etc. It just doesn't seem like she has liked any of these gifts, so I am looking for something different this year. Her interests include:

1. Teaching (special education and kindergarten)
2. Animals (Dogs, birds, horses) - she bird watches and takes photographs of hummingbirds
3. Reading/learning about Autism
4. Children
5. Getting her hair and nails done
6. Shopping
7. She used to paint in college
8. Being in nature (fishing, camping, hunting)
9. She enjoys writing

Other facts:
- She is not married
- She works a lot
- She lives in a different city than the rest of our family
- She had a pet, but it died
- None of my siblings live at home any more

It sounds like your mother went trough a lot, so I think a nice family vacation might be just what she needs. Take her to a nice cabin in where she can hunt, fish or just relax and have fun.

Another idea is to make her a gift basket that includes: bird watching book, sophisticated binoculars so she can watch her favorite birds, national parks annual pass gift certificate so she could travel and explore, map, a travelers diary and a pen so she can write about her experiences and adventures.

I need some help finding the perfect birthday gift for my mom. The gift is going to be from my older brother and I. My moms name is Betty, she enjoys some music as well as lots of movies. She is not very good when it comes to using electronic devices and gadgets and definitely does not need something that requires frequent charging. She is used to getting giftcards to bookstores, moviestores, etc. so we would like to avoid that if at all possible. Her favorite color is purple, she likes butterflies.
