A food gift basket was my answer too…
A while a go, one of my friends called me to ask what could be a good
birthday gift for her grandma.
"My granny never uses any of the gifts we bring her and she always hides them in the closet, I'm stuck for a birthday gift for her" my friend said in a frustrated tone.
"A food basket", was my reply, "it's a gift she will enjoy to "use" plus she can't put it away in her closet".
"Good idea. But which type of gift basket could I get her"? My friend wondered.
"There is a large variety" I said. "You just have to choose which one will be perfect for your granny, if she likes sweets but she is on a special diet or she is a diabetic then you could give her a sugar-free delights basket.
Another idea might be natural food such as low-fat pretzels or crackers and fat-free dips and spreads.
But if it was my grandmother, I would have brought her a fruit gift basket, you could choose her favorite fruits, exotic fruits or even organic fruits, whatever might suit your nana."
I also told her that food gift baskets might be an excellent birthday gift for just about anyone, especially for those who have everything.Thier options are endless; they can consist of candies, cookies, specialty food, gourmet food , snacks, coffee, tea and many more delicious delights.
If you've got the time you can make them on your own, if you rather buy a professional ready made basket then you could go to a local grocery store or a delicacy store where they will happily assemble a custom basket of your choice.
I prefer to search the net, just type in "food gift baskets" and you'll have a HUGE selection to choose from.
Tip: If you are buying online make sure you plan a head taking into consideration the delivery time.
"Happy Ending…"
Well, my friend brought her nana a gorgeous exotic fruit basket and for a change her grandmother enjoyed her gift very much. (And didn’t hide it in her closet).
